Toronto-based SkyPower, a Lehman Brothers company, is expanding its operations in the U.S. as part of a strategy to continue growing its portfolio of renewable energy projects. The company is establishing offices in Omaha, Neb., where it will explore new renewable energy opportunities to serve select states and communities.
SkyPower's U.S. operations will focus on wind, solar thermal and solar photovoltaic and energy projects. The company says it is exploring strategic options to partner with developers, corporations, federal, state and local governments, and communities to implement renewable energy solutions.
The company has named Daniel Walter director of strategic U.S. relationships and partnerships. He will be based out of SkyPower's new Omaha offices and will work closely with local stakeholders to meet increasing demands for renewable energy. Walter will also be responsible for establishing key strategic relationships and partnerships and overseeing development opportunities in other satellite facilities across the U.S.
