SKF To Supply Bearings For Onshore, Offshore Turbine Supplier

0

Swedish ball bearing maker SKF AB has signed a three-year supply agreement worth about $143 million with an unnamed wind turbine manufacturer.

While SKF would not divulge the turbine maker's identity, the company says its Nautilus bearing will be used in onshore and offshore wind turbines.

Through reduced friction and improved running conditions, the bearings contribute to the reduced cost of energy, helping to make wind energy a cost-effective energy alternative, SKF notes.
