Siemens has been awarded an order to supply 44 of its 2.3 MW wind turbines for the Keenan wind farm in Woodward County, Okla. The purchaser is CPV Renewable Energy Co., a subsidiary of Competitive Power Ventures Inc. (CPV). The Keenan wind farm will increase Oklahoma's existing 700 MW wind power capacity by 101 MW.

‘The U.S. is the largest market for our wind turbines business, and we are pleased that Competitive Power Ventures selected Siemens for its first wind farm in Oklahoma, which will also be our first wind project in that state,’ says Andreas Nauen, CEO of the Siemens wind power business unit.

The Siemens scope of supply for the Keenan wind farm consists of delivery, installation and commissioning of 44 SWT-2.3-93 wind turbines. A service and warranty agreement is also included in the order. The wind farm is scheduled to be in commercial operation in 2009.
