Siemens Energy says it has received two orders for a total of 90 wind turbines with a combined capacity of roughly 200 MW. The wind turbines will go to two wind farms, Korat 1 and Korat 2, located in northeastern Thailand.

The customer for the Korat 1 project is K.R. Two Company Ltd., and the purchaser for the Korat 2 project is First Korat Wind Co. Ltd. Both companies are subsidiaries of Thailand's Wind Energy Holding Co. Ltd.

The scope of supply encompasses the delivery, installation and commissioning of 90 SWT-2.3-101 Siemens wind turbines. Construction on both projects will begin this spring, and commissioning is scheduled for the end of the year.

These are the first orders Siemens has received for wind projects in Thailand.
