Siemens Energy has confirmed that it has received its first order for the Chilean wind power market. As reported by NAW earlier this month, Siemens will supply 50 2.3 MW wind turbines for the El Arrayan wind project, which is being developed by Pattern Energy and AEI.

The contract encompasses the delivery, installation and commissioning of 50 SWT-2.3-101 wind turbines with a power rating of 2.3 MW and a rotor diameter of 101 meters, as well as a five-year service and maintenance contract. Installation of the project is scheduled to begin in spring 2013, with commissioning of the wind farm planned for early 2014.
