Halifax, Nova Scotia-based Shear Wind Inc. has submitted its environmental assessment (EA) and registration document for the 60 MW Glen Dhu project, which is slated for initial generation in December 2009.
‘Our great project site at Glen Dhu is further validated through this EA, and we are confident that, with the new environmental application process, we can anticipate a positive approval from the minister of the environment within 30 to 45 days,’ says Ian Tillard, chief operating officer of Shear Wind.
According to the company, planning for the ground work and site preparation has begun, and foundation work for the planned supply of Enercon 2 MW E82 turbines is expected to start this fall.
