Senvion has signed four new contracts totaling 45 MW with renewable energy developer Blue Energy.
These represent the first contracts Senvion has signed with the U.K. developer and will involve the supply of turbines at four Blue Energy wind farms. They include the following:
- Grange Wind Farm, located near Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, will consist of six MM92 turbines with a total rated output of 12.3 MW. The turbines will be delivered in the fall. Senvion expects the project to be completed in the first quarter of 2016;
- Kelmarsh Wind Farm, located in Northamptonshire, will include six MM92 turbines. Four machines will have a hub height at 78 meters, and two turbines will be at 69 meters – enabling the wind farm to take full advantage of variable wind speeds. Turbines will be delivered to the site in the fall, and the project is due for completion in spring 2016. Senvion will also perform wind farm maintenance for 20 years;
- Winwick Wind Farm will be powered by six MM92 turbines. Construction is due to start this fall with project handover completed in spring 2016; and
- Chiplow Wind Farm, located in Norfolk, will consist of four MM82 turbines with a total rated output of 8.2 MW. Installation will begin in the fall with completion slated for spring 2016.
