Senvion, a global manufacturer of onshore and offshore wind turbines, has secured a contract with PLT Energia for the delivery and installation of 30 turbines at a total rated power of 60 MW for the Tursi Colobraro wind farm.

According to Senvion, Tursi Colobraro is the largest project under the third Italian feed-in tariff auction system to date.

Located in the region of Basilicata in southern Italy, the Senvion MM100 turbines will be installed next fall – each with a rated power of 2 MW and a hub height of 100 meters.

Together, the 30 turbines will generate enough electricity to power approximately 40,000 Italian households on average each year.

“We are very happy to be supplying and maintaining turbines from our 2 MW portfolio for Tursi Colobraro Wind Farm,” says Carlo Schiapparelli, managing director of Senvion South East Europe. “With our service offering, we will make sure that Tursi wind farm will contribute to the green future of the region.”

Altogether, Senvion has installed over 350 turbines from its MM portfolio with a total rated output of more than 700 MW in Italy to date.
