In an effort to fortify its presence in the Netherlands, Suzlon subsidiary Senvion SE has officially opened a Dutch-based service center in Nijkerk.
Senvion already has more than 150 MW in installed capacity in the Netherlands, including the Princess Alexia wind farm near Zeewolde in the province of Flevoland.
With 36 Senvion 3.4M104 turbines and a total of 122 MW of installed capacity, the wind farm is the biggest onshore wind farm erected by Senvion in Europe to date.
Earlier this year, Senvion announced that it had been selected to supply two Netherlands-based wind farms:
- The 10 MW Laarakkerdijk wind farm, located in Brabant, is being developed by Eneco Wind B.V. Construction will start in November, and it is scheduled for completion in early 2015.
- Windpark Zierikzee, located in Zeeland, will consist of three 3.4M104 turbines. The project plans for the site were first developed 17 years ago as a farm community project. Construction at the site will begin in August and is scheduled for completion at the end of this year.
