Turbine manufacturer Senvion has closed a framework agreement with PROKON for four wind farms in Germany for a total capacity of 100 MW.

According to Senvion, the conditional contract for 69 MW includes the delivery and commissioning of the turbines and a service agreement. In the first batch, four individual wind projects will be equipped with 21 turbines from the Senvion 3 MW portfolio, including the Senvion 3.4M140 for low-wind sites.

The four projects will be built using one Senvion 3.2M122, five Senvion 3.0M122, eight Senvion 3.4M114 and seven Senvion 3.4M140. This turbine, with a new pitch system and sound optimized serrations on its blades, is particularly suitable for low-wind locations, as well as forested and mountainous areas.

The commissioning of the four wind projects is planned between 2016 and 2018.

The Senvion 3 MW portfolio comprises turbines with a nominal capacity of 3.0 MW to 3.4 MW and rotor diameters from 104 meters to 140 meters.
