Sempra U.S. Gas & Power has ordered 39 Vestas V110-2.0 MW turbines for its Black Oak Getty wind farm, located in Stearns County, Minn.
According to Vestas, the contract includes the supply and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a five-year service agreement, which supports maximum energy production from the turbines. The Minnesota Municipal Power Agency has agreed to buy all of the output generated by the project for 20 years.
‘We are happy to partner with Sempra U.S. Gas & Power as they expand their renewable portfolio and bring more clean energy to the people of Minnesota,’ says Chris Brown, president of Vestas' sales and service division in the U.S. and Canada. ‘The workhorse V110-2.0 MW turbine that has been selected for the Black Oak Getty wind farm has a strong track record of performance and reliability, and we are confident it will meet expectations for this project.’
Turbine delivery for the Black Oak Getty wind farm is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2016.
