Seattle-based SafeWorks LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of access and safety solutions, has promoted John Purtle to the newly created position of training manager. Purtle will be primarily responsible for the development and progressive skill improvement of SafeWorks' employees as well as for the execution of learning and technical training programs for the company's customer base.

Prior to joining SafeWorks, Purtle managed the suspended access fleet for Ivy Hi Lift in Las Vegas. He began working for SafeWorks in 1996 as product support manager in the Power Climber division.
In addition, Spider, a division of SafeWorks LLC, has promoted Chris Bates to the newly created position of director of national accounts and industrial access. In this new role, Bates will be responsible for driving incremental business solutions to top facility owners, general contractors and specialty subcontractors.

Bates has over 26 years of experience in the scaffolding industry, spending the past 15 years with Spider. He began with Spider as branch manager in the Washington/Baltimore location and soon progressed to regional management positions.
