RMT Awarded BOP Contract For Utah Wind Project

Madison, Wis.-based RMT Inc., a wind energy development, engineering and construction company, has been awarded a balance-of-plant (BOP) engineering and construction contract for Milford Wind Corridor Phase I in Beaver and Millard counties, Utah. Phase I has a nameplate generating capacity of 203.5 MW.

RMT's WindConnect team commenced work at Milford Wind Corridor Phase I in late March. As BOP contractor, RMT will be providing engineering, procurement and construction services for the access roads, crane pads, crane paths and associated infrastructure; a 34.5 kV electrical collector system and 34.5/345 kV substation; operations and maintenance building; and erection and mechanical completion of 97 GE and Clipper wind turbine generators.

RMT is also responsible for managing the construction of an 88-mile, 345 kV overhead generator lead that will interconnect to the Intermountain Power Project substation north of Delta, Utah.


First Wind Holdings LLC has a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Southern California Public Power Authority to supply the City of Los Angeles with renewable energy from the Milford facility.
