Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES Americas) has completed the 227.5 MW Crossroads Wind Farm, located in Dewey County, Okla.
The project consists of 95 Siemens 2.3 MW turbines and three Siemens 3.0 MW direct-drive turbines.
RES Americas says it invested millions during the development and construction phases of the Crossroads Wind Farm, resulting in many benefits to the state and local community. During the 12-month construction period, the project had an average of 150 people working on site each day, for a total of 650 temporary construction jobs and 10 permanent jobs.
According to RES Americas, the Crossroads Wind Farm marks the first project developed by the company in Oklahoma. RES Americas also served as the balance-of-plant contractor, maintaining construction rights when it sold the project to Oklahoma Gas and Electric in August 2010.
