Las Vegas-based NV Energy Inc. has named Tom Fair vice president of renewable energy and Kevin Geraghty vice president of power generation.

Fair has been in charge of the company's growing renewables energy department since February 2006. He joined NV Energy as director of environmental affairs in 2004. Geraghty has been with the company's generation division since joining the company in June 2008.

Both Fair and Geraghty, who continue to report to Roberto Denis, senior vice president of energy supply, have extensive utility industry experience.

Prior to joining the company, Fair held a number of executive positions in renewables development and environmental affairs with such companies as Florida-based FPL Energy and Niagara Mohawk.

Geraghty spent 21 years with Allegheny Energy Supply before joining NV Energy. During his career with Allegheny, he directed generation facilities and regions throughout the nation, including several years in the Southwest. While stationed in Goodyear, Ariz., he was responsible for implementing the company's power projects in the western U.S.
