NRG Systems Introduces New Generation of Wind Tower Technology

Hinesburg, Vt.-based NRG Systems Inc., a manufacturer of wind measurement systems, has released the XHD NOW System featuring a 50- or 60-meter XHD TallTower.

‘The XHD TallTower is the foundation of the NRG NOW System,’ says Greg Erdmann, sales manager for NRG Systems. ‘It reflects our 25 years of experience and dedication to wind measurement systems. The XHD is our next-generation tower based on the popular HD TallTower design introduced in 2006.’

NRG Systems will offer XHD towers in response to customer demand for higher strength towers and flexible configurations, the company says. XHD TallTowers are ice-rated under structural engineering standard TIA/EIA 222-F. Both 50- and 60-meter towers use 10-inch and 8-inch diameter steel tubes and have a stronger base plate. The towers offer multiple anchor layout options, and a smaller footprint can be used for installations along ridgelines or in places where it is important to minimize forest or crop clearing.
