Turbine manufacturer Nordex has received an order to supply nine N100/2.5 MW turbines at O2's Bosjovarden wind farm, located in central Sweden.
According to Nordex, the turbines are scheduled for delivery in summer 2014. Due to the frigid temperatures during the winter months – characterized by temperatures down to -20 degrees C – Nordex will be supplying cold-climate versions of the turbines and fitting the rotor blades with an anti-icing system. By mitigating output losses and turbine downtimes caused by ice, Nordex says its cold-climate package boosts annual energy production substantially.
Already this year, O2 ordered 24 N117 3 MW Generation Delta wind turbines, Nordex notes.
