Noble Provides Updates For Wind Projects

Essex, Conn.-based Noble Environmental Power's 100.5 MW Noble Clinton and 81 MW Ellenberg windparks – both located in Clinton County, N.Y. – have resumed operation. The company had shut down the wind turbines to complete necessary expansion of its substation.

The substation is now a part of the New York Power Authority's (NYPA) bulk transmission system. The substation connects the grid to the above mentioned wind projects and also to the newly constructed 106.5 MW Noble Chateaugay Windpark, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.

The company expects that its 97.5 MW Noble Altona Windpark will be interconnected to another portion of the NYPA transmission system later this month and will begin generating power by the end of the year.

In addition, the company expects the Noble Wethersfield Windpark, with a total capacity of 126 MW, to start generating power by the end of the year.

As Noble completes its wind farms, it will instate the previously committed tax equity financing, which will form part of the long-term capital structure of the projects. This involves the transfer to the tax equity investor of an interest in the holding company that owns the wind farms.
