New Generation Power Texas LLC (NGP Texas) has begun the first phase of construction on a 400 MW wind farm. The newly formed subsidiary of Chicago-based New Generation Power notes it started construction on Dec. 11, 2013, making the project eligible for the production tax credit.

Located just northwest of Dallas, Texas, in Haskell County, the project is estimated to cost between $650 million and 700 million and will be built out in two phases. Rosendin Electric Inc. is serving as the prime engineering, procurement and construction contractor on the project, and AUI Contractors will serve as the civil and foundation sub-contractor. NGP Texas expects to complete construction of both phases by the end of 2015.
