NAES Corp., a provider of services to the energy industry, has signed an operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement for the 166 MW Cimarron Wind Facility, located near Dodge City, Kan.
The project – developed, owned and managed by CPV Renewable Energy Co. – comprises 72 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbine generators. Each wind turbine generator sits atop a 264-foot-tall tower and generates its full output of electricity when the wind speed is approximately 29 mph, according to NAES.
All of the power produced by the project will be fed to the grid at 345 kV to the Tennessee Valley Authority.
The project is currently under construction, and NAES expects the wind farm to enter operation late this year.
