Minnesota Power has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for 200 MW of wind energy generation that is deliverable to the utility's service territory.

Projects must begin construction before Jan. 1, 2014, in order to qualify for the production tax credit.

Minnesota Power notes that it also intends to consider building its own wind resource solution.
