The international law office of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP recently represented Suzlon Wind Energy Corp. (SWECO), a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy Ltd., as primary counsel on its agreement to supply a total of 400 MW of wind turbine capacity to PPM Energy of Portland, Ore. Under the agreement, Suzlon is also contracted for operation, maintenance and servicing of the wind turbines for two years, with a three-year extension option.

According to Mayer Brown, the deal is the fourth frame agreement on which the law firm has advised Suzlon in the past few years, with the combination of all such deals representing an aggregate capacity of more than 1,400 MW. Mayer Brown's team was led by Tim Callahan, a wind energy practice chair and partner in the global project finance and development group, the company adds.
