Community wind developer Juhl Wind Inc. has signed a development services agreement for the Black Oak Wind Farm, located near Ithaca, N.Y.

The project is a proposed 15 MW to 30 MW facility, which is expected to enter operation during the third quarter of 2013. Under the agreement, Juhl Wind will serve as a development partner for the project.

‘The Black Oak Wind Farm represents a new wrinkle in our development strategy here at Juhl,’ says John Mitola, Juhl Wind's president. ‘With the current transmission uncertainty in the Midwest, we are actively looking to diversify our development portfolio by adding projects throughout North America and in regions that generally experience higher electric rates.’
