Juhl Wind Announces New Project For Texas University

0

Woodstock, Minn.-based Juhl Wind Inc., a community wind power developer, has entered into a feasibility study agreement with Abilene Christian University in Texas to study the potential development of an initial 3 MW wind project with the potential to grow to a larger wind farm.

According to the company, Abilene Christian University is part of a handful of growing college and university projects that are seen as a growth area for the company.

‘We are finding colleges and universities have a deep commitment to cutting their own greenhouse gas emissions, and the installation of a small wind farm project is a perfect way to provide them with a significant jump start on that goal,’ says Dan Juhl, CEO of Juhl Wind. ‘We are taking steps to solidify our own turbine supply network to be able to move quickly on these smaller projects, and we expect to be announcing some of those measures in the near future.’
