Chicago-based Invenergy is planning an Ontario-based wind farm that will be located on 11,000 acres of private land in South Dundas, Ontario.
The Nine Mile wind farm, planned for 50 MW-90 MW, was made possible by virtue of the developer qualifying for Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator's (IESO) request for proposals (RFP) for large-scale renewable procurement earlier this year.
Invenergy also plans to submit a proposal for a solar project.
The IESO's RFP solicited the procurement of 300 MW of wind and 140 MW of solar. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 1, and the IESO's proposal evaluation process will run until December.
