Iberdrola has commissioned the 102 MW La Venta III wind farm in Mexico, making it the company's third project in the country.
The project is located in Santo Domingo de Ingenio, on the Tehuantepec isthmus in the state of Oaxaca, one of the windiest regions in the world.
The wind farm was developed by Iberdrola's construction and engineering subsidiary, and is fitted with 121 G52 Gamesa wind turbines, each of which is 44 meters high and has a capacity of 850 kW.
The electricity from the project will be sold to the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission under a 20-year agreement.
