GE has announced a new 22.8 MW wind order in Italy. Under the deal, the company will supply Toto Costruzioni with eight GE 2.85-103 wind turbines for a wind farm in the Puglia region.
The wind farm operator is Ponte Albanito S.r.l., a special-purpose company that is owned 70% by Renexia (a Toto Holding company) and 30% by Banco Santander. According to GE, Renexia and Toto Costruzioni are entering the wind industry for the first time.
In addition, GE says the project marks the debut of its 2.85 MW wind turbines in Italy, and the company will provide remote monitoring and diagnostics through its global wind monitoring center in Salzbergen, Germany.
