Gamesa says it has signed an agreement for the supply of 100 MW to Indian wind power developer and operator Greenko. This order falls under the umbrella of the 300 MW framework agreement reached in 2013, under which orders for 250 MW for installation at various wind complexes have already commenced.

Not only will Gamesa supply and install 50 G97-2.0 MW turbines, the agreement also includes a five-year operation and maintenance services contract.

The turbines will be installed at several wind farms being developed in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Rajasthan. Gamesa notes that commissioning of the wind farms will be in two phases: September 2014 and March 2015.

Gamesa notes the contract is part of a growing book of orders from independent power producers in the Indian wind energy segment, boosting the company's local credibility.
