DeWind Co., a U.S.-based wind turbine manufacturer and a wholly owned subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd., says it has concluded commissioning activities and achieved commercial operation on the 10 DeWind D8.2 wind turbines at the Frisco Wind Farm.

The 20 MW project, located in the Texas panhandle near the Texas-Oklahoma border, comprises DeWind's 2.0 MW D8.2 platform. TECO-Westinghouse, the manufacturing subcontractor to DeWind Co, assembled the wind turbines at its Round Rock, Texas, production facility.

During an average year, the Frisco Wind Farm will provide enough electricity to power almost 6,000 average U.S. households, according to DeWind.
