Fat Spaniel Technologies Inc., a provider of monitoring and reporting services for distributed renewable energy systems, has been designated a qualified reporting entity (QRE) for the Western Region Electricity Generation Information System (WREGIS), a regional registry and tracking system for renewable energy certificates (RECs).

Fat Spaniel's independent, revenue-grade reporting and billing services enable renewable energy system owners to maximize return on investment, investors to manage risk and REC buyers to purchase clean power, according to the company.

‘Fat Spaniel's approval as a QRE for WREGIS is a testament to the importance of a trusted independent source of renewable energy system data collection and reporting,’ says Chris Beekhuis, president and chief technical officer of Fat Spaniel Technologies. ‘The fast-growing voluntary and compliance REC markets represent a critical source of additional revenue for renewable energy systems.’
