E.ON Forms E.ON Energy Services

E.ON is jumping into the operations and maintenance space with the formation of E.ON Energy Services.

According to the company, its new business will leverage E.ON's renewable energy track record. After all, E.ON owns, operates or maintains nearly 3 GW of installed wind capacity in North America alone, including more than 1,800 wind turbines.

‘As we transitioned to an operations-focused company several years ago, we saw a large, growing demand for qualified service providers,’ explains Patrick Woodson, chairman at E.ON North America. ‘Supporting project owners and investors to get more performance, efficiency and revenues from their projects is at the core of E.ON Energy Services. We'll leverage nearly a decade of experience to offer a one-stop shop to small, midsize and big customers alike.’

Notably, E.ON's new service venture will also include solar energy – a growing sector that only a few providers can service nationally. Nonetheless, the company plans to tackle the new service venture with an owner's attention to detail.

‘For more passive owners, we can perform site and balance of plant management during warranty periods all the way to full asset management services,’ says Woodson. ‘For more active owners, we can supplement current efforts on major repairs, inspections or long-term maintenance to keep infrastructure investment costs down.’
