enXco Inc., an Escondido, Calif.-based wind farm developer, has purchased an additional 276 MW of GE Wind's 1.5 MW turbines for the development of its 2007 and 2008 projects in the Midwest. According to the companies, 75 MW of the wind turbines are to be delivered in 2007 and the remaining turbines are scheduled for delivery in 2008.

‘Turbine availability in this crucial period of the PTC [production tax credit] extension is imperative to any developer's current and future success, and we are pleased that with continued turbine procurement, enXco can continue to move forward with project development in several states,’ says Tristan Grimbert, enXco's president and chief operating officer.
