Enel Green Power's (EGP) 54 MW Melowind wind farm, located in the area of Cerro Largo, Uruguay, achieved full production on Oct. 27, less than two months after being put into service on Sept. 7.

The wind farm, with a capacity factor of 47%, can generate over 200 million kWh per year. The project is located roughly 320 kilometers from the capital of Montevideo.

According to EGP, the Uruguayan government approved the National Energy Policy 2030 plan in 2010, which intensifies the use of local resources and the participation of the private sector in energy generation.
