EDP Renewables To Soon Begin Construction On Ontario Wind Project

0

NAW has learned that EDP Renewables North America (EDPR) will begin construction at the 30 MW South Branch Wind Farm – its first wind project in Canada – in late July or early August.

The wind farm, located near Brinston, Ontario, will feature 10 Siemens 3 MW wind turbines with a 113-meter rotor perched on 95-meter towers.

According to Adam Renz, EDPR spokesperson, H.B. White Canada will serve as engineering, procurement and construction contractor. The project was awarded a feed-in tariff on April 2010.

Renz says that EDPR, which acquired the project from ProWind Canada last year, is actively looking at additional opportunities not only in Ontario, but also across all of Canada.
