EDF Renewable Energy says its 140 MW Pacific Wind project, located in Kern County, Calif., is operational and supplying electricity to the grid.

EDF owns the project, which features REpower's MM92 turbines. San Diego Gas and Electric Company has agreed to purchase the wind farm's output over 20-year period.

The company notes the financing method used a sale-leaseback transaction, and participating lenders included Bankers Commercial Corp., a subsidiary of Union Bank, Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and Citibank.

EDF Renewable Services, formerly enXco Service Corporation, will provide operations and maintenance services.
