EDF EN Canada and the Innu First Nations of Mashteuiatsh, Essipit and Pessamit have reached a 20-year agreement to partner in the 350 MW Riviere-du-Moulin wind project, located in Quebec's Laurentides Wildlife Reserve, a territory of interest for the Innu First Nations.

The wind project, which is currently under construction, will be completed in two phases: A 150 MW phase will be commissioned this Dec. 1 with the second phase being completed by Dec. 1, 2015.

The agreement provides Innu First Nations with the option to acquire a financial interest in the project once both phases have been commissioned, notes EDF EN Canada.
