Calgary, Alberta-based EarthFirst Canada Inc. has announced the delivery of British Columbia's first commercial wind turbines to the 144 MW Dokie I wind project site. Eight Vestas 3 MW turbines were delivered for the first phase of the project, to be installed by the end of the year. The remaining 40 turbines are scheduled for installation in 2009.
‘This is a significant milestone in renewable energy for the province of British Columbia,’ says Linda Chambers, president and CEO of EarthFirst Canada. ‘The turbines arrived exactly on time and overall project construction is proceeding on schedule.’
