Wind Tower Systems (WTS), a Heber City, Utah-based provider of tower and lifting system solutions for the utility-scale wind turbine marketplace, has hired David Oliphant as vice president of engineering.

At WTS, Oliphant will be responsible for ensuring that the company's space frame tower and lifting system meet customer technical and schedule requirements. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, including his most recent position as vice president of engineering at IsoTruss Structures, where he drove customer-based product changes and set up a fabrication facility and technical engineering team in Sri Lanka.

"The addition of David Oliphant is a significant step as WTS moves to full commercialization of our space frame towers and lifting system," says Tracy Livingston, WTS' chief executive officer. "David's expertise and experience complement the talented engineering team in place and will help ensure the timeliness and quality of our products as we roll them out into the wind energy marketplace."
