Edison Mission Group (EMG), an Irvine, Calif.-based subsidiary of Edison International, and US Wind Force (USWF), a Pittsburgh-based developer of utility-scale wind farms, have finalized a joint agreement to develop wind farms in the mid-Atlantic region.

Under terms of the agreement, USWF will work with EMG over the next several years to develop and construct up to 1,000 MW of wind energy projects. According to EMG, the company currently has a wind energy portfolio of 654 MW at 14 sites either in operation or under construction in Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

USWF has more than 20 projects in various stages of development, the company says. The company is currently active in the mid-Atlantic region, primarily in the power pool operated by PJM Interconnection LLC.
