The Woodford County Zoning Board of Appeals recently voted 4 to 0 to recommend the Woodford County Board approve the 100-turbine White Oaks Wind Energy project, which is being developed by Invenergy Wind LLC.

The company, a Chicago-headquartered developer, owner and operator of large-scale renewable energy projects in the North American and European markets, is planning to install GE's 1.5 MW turbines on the border of McLean and Woodford counties, Illinois. The wind farm will produce a total capacity of 150 MW - enough energy to power approximately 40,000 homes.
