United Equipment Accessories Inc. (UEA), a Waverly, Iowa-based producer of slip rings, cable reels and shift controls, has introduced a new slip ring for wind turbines.

UEA incorporates into the rings copper graphite brush components that are rated to last up to 75 million revolutions, the company says. Because of this, the number of maintenance visits is reduced, which allows the company to offer its five- to 10-year warranty on the product. UEA adds that it can also custom-make the slip rings within weeks at a competitive rate.
