North American Windpower: Voters Can Opt For Green Energy

Voters in Washington state will be able to choose on November 7, 2006, whether to require the state's largest utilities to provide 15% of their energy supply from renewable energy sources, such as wind or solar, by the year 2020. This Initiative 937, or I-937, is an option in the ballots because of 336,770 voters' signatures that supported it - 225,000 signatures were required.
