Ventus, a Dallas-headquartered provider of drone inspection services, has entered into a joint wind turbine blade repair program with Renewables Civil & Maintenance (RCM), based in West Yorkshire in the U.K.

In the U.K., Spain and other regions of Europe, RCM currently performs drone inspections, as well as up-tower rotor blade repairs using 100-meter boom cranes fitted with a man basket.

Ventus, a recently formed joint venture of Ventus Wind and Texas Aerial Solutions, will be offering RCM's same blade repair services in North America.

‘Ventus continues to expand our range of services, and RCM's boom crane blade repair capabilities is a testament to this growth,’ states Marco Zvanik, CEO of Ventus. ‘Ventus offers wind turbine blade inspections utilizing unmanned drones, which offer the wind industry a cost-effective and safer method than previously available. By incorporating the blade repairs services, we can now offer our customers a turnkey blade inspection and repair solution throughout the U.S. and Canada.’
