The first large-scale wind project in the Dominican Republic is now online in the southern part of the country, Reuters reports.
The project has a capacity of 33 MW and involved a total investment of approximately $100 million from EGE-Haina and Punta Cana-Macao. EGE-Haina told Reuters that a second, 52 MW phase of the project is planned to be operational by 2012.
