DMI Industries Purchases Wind RECs

West Fargo, N.D.-based wind tower manufacturer DMI Industries has purchased enough renewable energy credits (REC) from wind farms to offset 100% of the electricity consumed at its North Dakota plant. As a result of its purchase, the company has been Green-e certified by the Center for Resource Solutions and named a Green Power Partner by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

DMI Industries is currently exploring the possibility of purchasing Green-e certified RECs for its Ontario facility, the company adds, and will purchase RECs to offset its electrical usage in its Oklahoma facility as soon as the plant is operational in late 2007 or early 2008.
