WindMW GmbH, a joint venture of Blackstone Energy Partners and Windland Energieerzeugungs GmbH, has completed construction of its 288 MW Meerwind Sud Ost offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
WindMW started construction of the 80-turbine project in 2012 and completed it on schedule within 18 months. According to the company, Meerwind was the first German offshore wind project to be fully financed by private investors, and a total of EUR 1.2 billion was invested in the construction of the wind farm.
