Gamesa has announced that construction is now under way on the 28 MW Garden Wind Farm, which uses the company's G97 2.0 MW Class IIIA wind turbines. Located on the Garden Peninsula, this is Gamesa's first project in Michigan.
Heritage Sustainable Energy will develop and own the project, which features 14 turbines on 90-meter towers in Garden Township, Delta County. Project development began in March 2011, and the turbine contract was signed at the end of last year. Detroit Edison and Consumers Energy will purchase the output.
The wind farm is scheduled to be completed and online by September, according to Gamesa.
