John Deere Renewables has announced that construction has begun on the Tuana Springs Wind Farm Project. Located in Twin Falls County, Idaho, the Tuana Springs Wind Farm will consist of eight 2.1 MW turbines.
Christi Ritchie is the developer of the project, and Idaho Power Co. is purchasing the energy under a long-term power purchase agreement. Commercial operation of the wind farm is expected to begin in spring 2010.
‘John Deere Renewables is committed to sustainable rural development and concentrating its efforts on developing mid-sized wind projects like the Tuana Springs Wind Farm,’ says David Drescher, vice president of John Deere Wind Energy.
John Deere Renewables funded the Tuana Springs Wind Farm and will also serve as owner and operator of the project.
