TSP Canada Towers, the North American subsidiary of China-based tower manufacturer Shanghai Taisheng Wind Power Equipment, has announced the opening of its Thorold, Ontario, plant that will produce wind towers to support turbines ranging from 50 kW to 3 MW, as well as to fill international orders, TSP says.

According to the company's website, TSP's three production plants are located in the provinces of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia.

The company, which reportedly invested $25 million in the Ontario plant, will first concentrate on manufacturing towers for onshore wind farms and plans to hire about 150 employees by 2013.
