CG, along with consortium partners Fabricom and Iemants, has been selected by Van Oord for the 600 MW Gemini offshore wind project in the Netherlands.
Gemini consists of two offshore wind farms – 300 MW Buitengaats and 300 MW ZeeEnergie – and is located 85 km north of the island of Schiermonnikoog in the Dutch North Sea.
CG will design, deliver and install two high-voltage (HV) offshore substations and one HV onshore substation. The volume of the order for the consortium is in excess of EUR 150 million, and CG's scope covers approximately 30% of the overall contract. The project is expected to start in the second quarter of this and be completed in 2016.
CG notes this is the 10th offshore grid connection project it has secured since 2008.
